The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry hearing for Tulsa oral surgeon W. Scott Harrington, who may have exposed at least 7,000 patients to HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C, has been postponed to January, said Susan Rogers, executive director of the board. Harrington had been set to go before the board Aug. 16 for a hearing in which his license could be revoked. Both parties need more time to gather evidence and complete witness interviews and depositions, according to the order for continuance. Rogers said the delay is not unexpected because there are so many aspects to it. "This is a huge case," she said. "It's not surprising at all." Harrington could surrender his license before the hearing, but the board would have to formally accept it, she said.
