NHS choir aims Christmas No1 with musical mash-up

A Bridge Over You, a unique arrangement of Fix You by Coldplay and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, features the voices of staff from across the NHS workforce.

The single is being produced in support of Macmillan Cancer Support and local healthcare charities.

Any profits made from the sale of the single will be split equally and donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and local healthcare charities.

Caroline Smith, Children's Physiotherapist and Choir Member said: "To mark our first anniversary we wanted to create something that would celebrate the thousands of dedicated NHS staff across the country. It was a dream come true to make a single and the sentiment of both these songs really symbolises the healing natures of our jobs. We hope that the public will enjoy the song and help us to support some very worthy causes."

The NHS choir, based at Lewisham Hospital in South East London, was first seen a year ago on Gareth Malone's BBC series Sing While You Work, where they were narrowly beaten in the final.

Since then, the choir have performed regularly for hospital patients and in concerts across the UK.

The single is due to be released on December 9, and is available to pre-order now from www.nhschoir.co.uk.
